This is my experience of the paid guided review.
Book online ahead of time as slots go quickly, I booked around 2 weeks ahead and had an 8.30am time slot on a Saturday morning. It is possible to buy tickets on the day at the desk, however you have no control over the time-slots. I had an English tour, although Hungarian and Spanish are available. The tour lasts 45 minutes.

Highlights include the Grand staircase, the debate room and the holy crown. NB no photos of the crown are permitted. The guard shows you around and the audio guide gives you tons of information. There is enough time in each room, and I suggest if you want pictures then stay at the back of the group. You finish at the museum on the ground floor which is also pretty nice

Additional info
No lockers/cloakroom available. Time slots are fixed. There is no bathroom during the tour. Security is very high, including bag check & metal detectors.

Kossuth Square
The area around the Parliament is also worth seeing. The architecture is amazing and there are lots of statues of important historical figures.
