Good bread is important to many people, if its for your sandwiches, your morning toast, or just something to have with your afternoon tea. But where to find it? Well Shenzhen actually has several places you can buy your bread and other baked good from, both in person and through online delivery. Very popular and well known spot in the G&G space in Shekou. This does a mean sourdough as well as some great muffins, croissants, baguettes, buns, bagels and a lot more. They are continually pushing the envelope and doing new ant interesting products, and the pies, donuts and pancakes. The pressed sandwiches are also divine and worth the trip.

Sims Bakery
Long running bakery in Seaworld, this offers all the baked goods you would expect from a good bakery. The sourdough is excellent as well as doing great bread, buns, crumpets, cookies, bagels and more. The bread uses no chemicals or preservatives and it is all natural. There is also a selection of vegan products available.

HH Gourmet
The go to place for bagels in Shenzhen, this does a NY style bagel and can deliver city wide. With a wide range of bagels and cream cheeses available, you can mix and match to get pretty much whatever you want. The bagel chips are really tasty and moorish, and there is a great scone and cheesecake available too.

Bakers Base
Top Quality bakery with 2 locations in SZ (at time of writing). This bread is great! The ciabatta and sourdough are my two standout items here but everything is consistently good. They also do a wide range of sweet cakes and desserts and the usual buns, baguettes, rolls, loafs etc. This is also a good place to visit in person and it really doesn’t get the recognition I feel it deserves.

Backerei Thomas German Bakery
German bakery with multiple locations in Shenzhen, this is the go to place for authentic European style baked good. I especially enjoy the German pretzel here. The bread, buns, baguettes etc are consistent and good, and having multiple locations makes finding them even easier. You know what you will get and the standard is the same across all the locations. There is a wide range of cakes, cookies and other sweet treats too.

A strange choice maybe considering this is generally thought of as an overpriced supermarket. However the bread here is surprisingly good, and with many locations citywide its a quick convenient way for you to grab a french loaf or some bread immediately.
