Chaka/Caka Salt Lake in Qinghai province is known as ‘mirror lake’ for the way the water and sky reflect from each other. However you really need to be lucky with the weather to get that effect (I wasn’t)

Ideal weather to visit, if you’re lucky

Unfortunately when I visited this amazing natural sight, the weather was not good. It was raining and it was misty and grey. It took something away from the experience and it remains a regret of mine.

As you can see, you will get a different kind of effect, not quite the mirror lake feeling, but instead a horror movie vibe instead. I would still recommend people to take a chance and go visit for themselves.
