Spooky English

It was just Halloween as you know, and although it is not so big in China, my students like it so we did a Halloween English lesson.  Teaching doesnt have to be textbooks and Q and A it can be many things.  One of my favourite forms is ‘free talk’ lessons.

So basically we will make something, some form of crafts.  In this case it was monster faces using paper plates.  So while the kids are making and creating they are talking both to me and to each other in English!  It’s perfect conversational English in a relaxed mannor.  and the most important part, they have fun.  Nothing worse than boring classes, nobody wants that.

So to all you TEFL teachers, arts and crafts and other creative style lessons can also be effective forms of teaching.
