Comical English

Another blog of my thoughts on ESL in China.

Recently did a ‘comic strip’ lesson where the students had to create a 4 pannel comic on anything they wanted.  I printed out speech bubble for them to use and write the dialogue in.

Was a very successful lesson. The children had fun, got to create something, and of course speaking and writing in English.  They have full days in school with lots of homework, I try to make our lessons much more fun than they would have in school.  Over time i’m slowly creating a ‘free speech’ atmosphere where they feel comfortable to casually talk in English.

This was one of the comic creations.It looks like her English textbook is being killed.  Weird and wonderful
