K11 is a 6-storey shopping centre housed within The Masterpiece skyscraper in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong. It opened in December 2009 and dubbed by its developer, New World Development Company Ltd, as “the first art mall in the world” and “intertwining the functions of art galleries and shopping malls and pioneers the blend of art, people and nature.” Apart from the shopping mall, The Masterpiece also houses a high-end luxury residential apartments and the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

The mall covers an area of 340,000 square feet featuring more than 100 retail shops selling mid-range to high-end designer fashion, accessories, jewellery and watches, beauty and healthcare products, leather goods, shoes and bags, and lifestyle products.

Some of the popular with stores at K11 include Aigle, Samsonite, Chow Tai Fook, Omega, Lens Crafters, D-Mop, Laura Ashley, Fortress, Levis, Miss Sixty, Tiffany & Co, Vica Moda, FILA, Vica Moda, Mademoiselle, Miss Sixty, Barbara Milano and Longchamp, Hush Puppies, Jill Scott, Milan, Clarks, Eric Bompard Paris, Menard and Dymocks Booksellers. There is also a Marketplace by Jasons supermarket and Mannings personal store at basement level.

A total of 22 dining establishments which include casual to high end restaurants, cafe’s and fast food chains offer a variety of cuisines and treats. The “Gourmet Tower” features restaurants serving a variety of international cuisines such as Japanese, Thai, Chinese, Western and Thai. There is also an IMAX cinema.

True to its “art mall” tag, numerous art pieces are displayed in strategic locations on each of K11‘s 6 floors, including display windows between stores. The pieces range from purely ornamental such as sculptures and wall decorations to functional such as benches. The art pieces, which came from various sources including local artists, are said to cost a total of 2.6 million dollars.
