Night hikes in Shenzhen often provide great views of the capacity below, but not all the hikes are good options at night. Tanglang is probably the best such option.

It’s central location, well lit in the dark, safe hiking path, and its always busy with locals should you need help. It can also be done in 60-90 mins so its a good after dinner night time stroll

There are stairs if you wanted to do it quickly, but at night I suggest sticking the the paved road, its longer but safer. Along the way there are many view points to get sweeping views of Futian and Nanshan below you, which provide excellent photo opportunities.
You can start and end at the same metro, providing ease of access and a convenient way to get home.
